Anatomy of Sciatica

Sciatica is just a description of what and where your pain is located.

Sciatica itself is not going to tell you what the cause of pain is or what the best treatment will be for you. However, if we do have a better understanding of the anatomy, we can treat the problem in a better way. So, let’s take a ride and learn about this nerve itself.

So we start off in the brain, cells traveled all the way down through your spinal cord, and then exit your spine via the nerve roots of L4 to S3 to eventually form the sciatic nerve itself.  Which then passes underneath your buttocks and down the back of your leg and then it splits into two nerves, the tibial and the fibular nerve, and it supplies the lower half of your leg.

The main areas that can be affecting this nerve include the brain itself, the spine, hips, thighs, and lower leg. And each of those areas is areas that we can treat.

So if you have sciatica pain and need some help, send us a direct message or email us at info@ifixyoursciatica.com
