Let’s talk about pain. What is it, and how does it actually work.
Now, pain is actually the perception of a specific stimulus that helps us determine whether or not said stimulus is actually gonna kill us. The brain receives and sends out electrical signal impulses to navigate what movement and sensation. When you have an injured body part, say, the spine, an electrical impulse actually travels up your spinal cord and into your brain. And that’s where it gets processed into the deep brain centers.
So yes, the pain process is in fact, in the mind and it’s protective and it allows you to avoid anything that’s going to cause you harm. And there are four major mechanisms of pain which include tissue injury, nerve pain, chronic pain, and referred pain that requires medical follow-up.
