Knowing what makes your pain worse is extremely important.
Why this matters:
Your pain is like a scab. It will heal over time. However, with every flare up or trigger, we pick at that scab, which causes more pain and slows healing. In order to speed recovery, we need to identify the triggers, or activities that cause the pain to increase. Not only that, we need to modify or eliminate that activity altogether to be pain free. This is temporary, as you will be able to safely return to those triggering activities in the future, but for now, we need to make changes.
Action steps:
Make a list of your triggers. What activities bring on your pain? Do they share any similarities?
When you find the trends between each of these; what modifications can you make to allow yourself to heal?
